I chose to use the rule of thirds, dark setting, and depth of field to focus the hot coals. The point of view I used shows the dish with ashes and the coals.

I used depth of field to make the focus on the instrument for smoking hookah. The hose of the instrument leads to the person smoking in the background. I also used the rule of thirds to frame the shot and make it aesthetically pleasing.

The photograph has depth of field which isolates the smokers face from the background. I used the rule of thirds to show his head in the right third and the trail of smoke leading to the upper left third of the photo.

The Chicha Shack is a relaxing hang out spot for Drake students studying. In this photograph, I most enjoy the way the smoke flows up to the red color in the background.
